Garstang Arts Festival – have your say this month!

It may be seven months away but the organisers of this summer’s Garstang Arts and Music Festival want to hear from you now!
The festival, held for the past 21 years, includes a complete range of arts and music events to suit all tastes and all ages is usually held in the last week of August in the run-up to the late summer Bank Holiday Monday.
Plans are currently in the pipeline for the 2016 festival, which will be held between August 22 and August 29. Its organisers have called a public forum meeting on Thursday, January 14, to hear suggestions from the public as to other possible arts and musical events which could be incorporated into the 2016 programme.
Venues for the popular festival vary from open air sites such as Garstang Arts Centre forecourt, Cherestanc Square and Thomas’s Weind square, to local halls such as the Arts Centre, church halls, churches, Garstang library, as well as the High Street.
Anyone who feels they can make a contribution or suggestion for the 2016 Garstang Arts and Music Festival is welcome to attend the open forum session at Garstang Library at 7pm on Thursday, January 14.
Similarly any local group which might consider performing as part of the Garstang Arts and Music Festival is invited to send a representative. The meeting will be chaired by Arts Festival chairman Mrs Gillian Lamb, who can be contacted on 01995 605490.
