Garstang Country Market – Gearing up for Christmas
THE army of craftswomen (and a handful of craftsmen) who regularly stand the stalls at Garstang Country Market are gearing up for their Christmas markets in the run-up to the festive season.
There will be three markets at the usual Thursday venue, St Thomas’s hall, during December, on December 1, 8 and 15 (all 10am to noon) and an additional market as part of Garstang’s Victorian Festival at the community centre basement, off High Street car park, on December 12 at 6pm.
Market organiser Mrs Margaret Halford said there would be a Christmas theme at all the markets in December, with crafts, plants as well as food items geared to the Christmas season.
Mrs Halford, a former mayoress of Garstang, said: “We look forward to welcoming customers old and new and sharing a bit of our Christmas spirit with them. Everyone is welcome.”
After the December 12 trading session Garstang Country market takes a break, but will re-open at St Thomas’s parish hall on Thursday, March 1, 2012 (from 10am to noon).
