Garstang & District Annual Floral Show
GREEN-fingered residents in Garstang and surrounding villages, are gearing up for their annual floral treat.
Saturday, September 3, will see St Thomas’s parish hall, Church Street, burst into bloom for the annual show organised by Garstang and District Gardening Club.
Organisers are expecting a bumper crop, not only of flowers, but also exhibits of fruit and vegetables, floral craft and homecraft.
Previous years have seen some of the best examples of fruit and veg displayed in local garden produce shows, impressing judges who have commented on the high standard of Garstang growers’ entries.
Judging will take place during the morning before the show is opened up to the public at 1pm. The hall will remain open until about 4pm, with prizes being presented at about 3.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend, not just club members.

* Garstang and District Gardening Club meets for monthly lectures and gardening advice sessions from September to April.
The first session of the autumn/winter series begins on September 12 with a talk on Victorian Gardens by Colin Dickinson. The venue is St Thomas’s parish hall. Time: 7.30pm. Again, all welcome.
