Garstang & District Heritage Society Poppy Trail

Garstang and District Heritage Society have created a Poppy Trail of Remembrance around the former Garstang Rural District, which marks war memorials and other significant sites connected to the fallen of both World Wars.

At each location on the Trail there is a Poppy Plaque which has a QR code, allowing anyone with a Smartphone to scan it and be taken to the Society’s website to see all the information about the fallen who are connected to that location.

Leaflets showing all the plaque locations are available from the Visitor Centre, Garstang Library, Market Place News in Garstang, and will soon be available throughout the rural district.

A copy can also be downloaded from the GDHS website at:

www.garstangheritagesociety.org/PoppyTrail

More information about the Trail and all the district’s fallen can also be found on the website.

There is no designated route around the Trail, visitors can take their time and visit in the way that best suits them, starting and finishing where they wish.
