Garstang gains yet another GOLD award!
Well done to Norah Hoyles, her team of “bloomers”, residents, schools and community groups who have helped Garstang to win yet another prestigious Gold Award from the RHS Northwest in Bloom.
A team of bloomers accompanied Norah and the mayor & mayoress of Wyre as they travelled to Southport to hear the news.
The Royal Oak also won an award for “Best small accommodation” which was collected on their behalf by Andrew Thompson
Garstang was recently presented with a top Gold Award at the Nationals, winning its category in the RHS Britain in Bloom campaign, one of the largest horticultural campaigns in Europe. Norah Hoyles won an individual “community champion” award for her untiring work with Garstang in Bloom.
Stransdale residents also collected an award in the “Neighbourhood Awards” which were given out the day before – Wednesday 20th. This was for the “improving” project taken on by PCSO Lisa Dennett and a team of volunteers from the Princes Trust scheme.
