Garstang in Bloom Needs YOU!
This year, after a short break, Garstang is entering the town into the North West Britain in Bloom competition.
The Garstang “bloomers” do a great job of maintaining the town’s planters and beds whether they be in the competition or not. Work continues throughout the summer and is done by a small team. This team desperately needs some help.
They will resume meeting again every Wednesday (weather permitting) evening at 7pm near the top end of High Street (by the car park).
If you feel you can spare a few hours every so often with no obligation to commit to more than you want to do…and enjoy gardening with a bit of social chit chat…then please come along and see if this is something you could enjoy doing, whilst helping to keep Garstang looking beautiful.
If you would just like to come along and see the bloom team and maybe only help once or twice a year…well on Wednesday April 12th at 7pm the annual first “spring clean” will take place. The more the merrier, and it is an opportunity to see that “blooming” is not done by the “magic fairies” – it is done by people like you and me who like to see the town blossoming in Summer.
If you would like more information or, if you can help in other ways that maybe doesn’t involve gardening, please ring Garstang in Bloom Chairman Alan Pearson. 07850 699492
Otherwise – please just turn up on the 12th at 7pm and introduce yourself – you will see who are the bloomers, they are usually found “bottoms up” in the flower beds!
