Garstang Victorian Christmas Festival 2010

This year’s festival will be held on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th December from 6.00pm.

The High Street is closed to traffic and the High Street will be have a variety of stalls, shops will be open for late night shopping, Father Christmas and his Gnomes will arrive in style, and a fantastic entertainment programme which will include:

The ‘Batala’ samba drum band, the Red Rose Band, the Pilling Band, the Longridge Band, Calvos (a must to be seen!), Punch and Judy, the balloon man, Food wise there will be the usual hog roast, German sausages, olives, chestnuts, mulled wine, doughnuts, and much more. Mince pies and mulled wine will be offered by many shopkeepers too!

Garstang’s own Town Crier will escort Santa to his grotto so he can meet the children.

Come along and mingle with the many visitors on the night. Why not wear Victorian costume? – you won’t be on your own – as many of the town dignitories, stall holders, residents and shop-keepers dress up in their Victorian finery to help bring the spirit of Christmas to the town.

The festival is a community event co-ordinated by Garstang Chamber of Trade, and is supported and organised by all Garstang’s local organisations.
