New Chairman for Garstang and District Arts Society

Background

• Mary Thornber, our very successful Chairman for the lprevious 7 years, stepped down at the last AGM in 2015, but no one could be found to take her place
• Bob Parker also resigned as Vice Chairman, because of poor health, but John Whalley volunteered to take the role.
• The Arts Centre has been run for the last 12 months by John, as Vice Chairman, Pat Manley, Treasurer, and Pat Hansell, Secretary with a great deal of help from other members of the Society.

News from the AGM 2016

Tessa Ferguson agreed to be nominated as Chairman, and was unanimously elected at our AGM on 11th April 2016.

Tessa has lived in Garstang for 33 years. She is in her 4th year as a member of Arts Centre, playing bridge there. Tessa is in charge of the Flower team
at St Thomas’ Church, a volunteer at the Save the Children shop & a
Trustee of the Garstang Town Trust & the Bowland Village Trust. Her hobbies are gardening, dog walking & golf.
