Sainsbury’s Garstang New Food Donation Partnership

Sainsbury’s Garstang are pleased to announce a new food donation partnership with the local charity Leonard Cheshire Disability, based on Dimples Lane. Leonard Cheshire Disability, Oaklands Care Home, has recently been refurbished and provides care and support for adults who are disabled and have learning disabilities.

The donated food is surplus food that is still healthy, nutritious and within it use-by dates such as fruit, vegetables, bread and cheeses. The food donation scheme is aimed at charities and organisation that could really benefit from receiving surplus fresh food products that would otherwise go to waste. Store Manager Salvatore Cau said “We hate wasting food and really believe that old saying ‘Waste not; want not’ We are really happy that local charities, within our community, can benefit from our food donations scheme.
