What’s on at Garstang Arts Centre in December 2012

Garstang Victorian Evenings On Monday 10th December, the Arts Centre will be open from 6 pm for refreshments with corned beef hash, tea and coffee for sale, and free mince pies. Garstang Musical Productions will lead the carol singing. On Tuesday 11th December, the Centre opens again at 6 pm offering home-made soup, tea and coffee and free mince pies. The Arts Centre’s own Songbirds will sing for us on this evening. Admission is free but donations would be welcome.

The Floral Art Group will meet on Tuesday 11th December at 2pm when members will make their own Christmas Table Arrangements. This will be followed by a Jacob’s Join and social time when next year’s programme will be discussed. Visitors are welcome. Details from Mary Thornber on 01995 605210.

The Poetry Appreciation group will meet on Friday December 14 from 2pm to 4pm, earlier in the month than our normal Poetry Appreciation meeting because of Christmas. The title is ‘A Christmas Anthology’. Bring along your favourite poem or Christmas prose and join our Christmas get together. As usual we will have a Jacobs Join and a merry time! This month’s Exhibition is by Mill Barn Artists who are a group of serious painters, sculptors, printmakers, textile artists and ceramicists who meet every Monday afternoon at the scenic and well equipped studios of Mill Barn in Samlesbury Bottoms. The group was formed fourteen years ago when ten artists gathered to talk about and make art. Of those original 10, 7 are still members. The group now numbers 14, but not all the above mentioned disciplines are represented in this exhibition, which closes on 15th December
