Open Art Exhibition. The entries for the every popular Open Art Exhibition will be on show in the Arts Centre until the 6th February. Judging will take place on the 2nd January by Prof. James Dodding and he will present the five prizewinners with their awards at 11-00am on Saturday the 9th January. Come along to the prizegiving when you will have the opportunity to hear from Prof. Dodding who has been successful in the competition and why he selected the five pieces of art to be worthy winners. The Tuesday Bridge Group will meet in the Arts Centre on the 5th 12th and the 26th January commencing at 1.30pm. Any enquiries ring Mary on 01995 605210. The Monday evening sessions begin again at 7-00pm on Monday 11th January and will continue on the 18th and the 25th January and again on 1st February. More details from Bob on 01995 603524. New members are always very welcome at both sessions.

The first meeting of the Garstang Floral Art group in the New Year will take place in Garstang Arts Centre on Tuesday January 19th 2016 at 2pm. when Sue Gillon and Marguerite Hughes will tell members how to grow and care for a variety of Winter Plants. Sue and Marguerite have a vast knowledge of plants and the ideal conditions in which to grow them and have many tips to share with us. Friday January 22nd Poetry Appreciation from 2pm until 4pm. Welcome to our first meeting of the New Year. We commence with a tremendous session called The Art of Speaking Poetry led by James Dodding. As many know James is an internationally known stage director and an expert on public speaking. He is a superb teacher and this session will be a great insight into both understanding poetry and the techniques of voice production. Well worth attending! Visitors are most welcome.
