What’s on at the Garstang Arts Centre – May 2017
May Art Exhibition
Our artist for May will be Bert Stenning and this will be his seventh exhibition at the Arts Centre. Bert attended art school before enlisting in the Royal Navy in 1959 and served for ten years in various parts of the world. He later joined the Police Force and served for a further 27 years in and around the Garstang area. Bert mainly works from photographs and takes commissions.
Some of his paintings may be viewed on his website – http://www.bertstenningart.co.uk. The exhibition will run from Tuesday 9th May to Thursday 1st June.”
The Spring draw was held on Saturday and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Wine Circle for their entertaining quiz.
A list of the winners is available for inspection at the Arts Centre. If you missed this draw then spare numbers are still available for the Autumn draw. Thanks to all those who supported.
Garstang Ukulele Group
The ukulele festival season is upon us and we have players setting off for Huddersfield, Cheltenham and Dumfries over the coming months. But what’s even more exciting is that we will be hosting GarFest, our own one day ukulele festival at the Tithe Barn on 26th August. This day will include lots of musicians of all ages and various instruments from around the region. We will have performances from 1 – 11 pm, inside and out on Andy’s amazing stage, We will have workshops for beginners and a special masterclass in the afternoon. Check out what’s happening at www.garstangukulelegroup.co.uk/index.php/garfest-2017 and get ready to order the t-shirt.
With all this happening we’re not taking any new bookings until the autumn, but we continue to practice every Sunday. If you want to join in or if you want to book us and you’re planning ahead, do get in contact with Bob at firstname.lastname@example.org.
